Each object we decide to own defines us. Vico Magistretti, the great Italian maestro, was convinced of this and thus it is starting from this very statement that the Fondazione Magistretti now invites all those who have an object designed by him at home to tell the world their way of living with it, by means of a text and a snapshot to be sent to the Foundation (info here). Photographer Ilaria Turba will then realize a series of shots of the objects/people selected: this will be the core of the exhibition «Il Mio Magistretti» (16 ottober 2012 -8 april 2013, Fondazione Magistretti, Milan). An initiative that I am happy to post because it stimulates the public at large to re-think of their relationship with objects and not to take them for granted – an important step towards the creation of a sustainable society against a use-and-throw-away one.
